HDR explained

Here is a side by side comparison of a normal image and then that image after it has been made into an HDR photo. This is my first try and is by no means a perfect outcome. You create HDR by taking the same pic with several exposures. One normal, one too dark, and one too bright. You then combine those pics and blend the highs and lows together. I like the effect and plan to do a little more practicing. I think you could make an awesome bridal portrait with some subtle HDR effects!

Normal picture, no adjustments

Same picture but with HDR development from 3 exposures
Notice the clouds and mountains in the HDR pic? You see all those in real life, but with normal photography you just can't make them show. If you darkened the pic enough that all the clouds will show, then the town would be way too dark. If you lighten the pic to show all the darker shadowy areas in the town, the sky will be too bright. HDR gives you the best of both worlds and a closer picture to what your eye would really be seeing. I like it!
